General structure of the transportation system.
The transportation system is intended for suspension of and conveying parts to be coated through the stages of the technological process (preparation, dryoff, coating in the powder coating booth, curing in the oven, cooling down and unloading). It consists of tracks, fasteners, frames, cross intersections and carriers. The carriers are pushed manually. The arrangement of the transportation system depends on the relative position of the preparation area, oven, booth and unloading area. In case when the equipment is arranged in a linear fashion, the cross-intersections are not used. The transportation system is propped up by the oven, booth and cross-intersectional structures, when the length of tracks is above 4 meters, additional frames are erected.
Carrier wheels move along enclosed space inside the tracks, which protects them from powder paint and dust and extends their life span.
The transportation system construction precludes transfer of parts in the process of powder coating, which has a positive effect on quality and performance (a part is hooked on a carrier at the preparation area and unloaded from the same carrier at the unloading area when the process is completed).
Performance and standard sizes.
Transportation systems differ in the number or tracks, carriers and availability of cross-intersections. All the above parameters, as well as the length of the transportation system are chosen based on sizes and a number of parts to be coated, equipment dimensions, coating equipment layout, and room geometry, as well as the necessity to transport parts to adjacent facilities.
The number of tracks can range from 3 to 8, and the length from 10 to 36 meters.
The load-carrying capacity of a carrier is up to 300 kg, when need be it can be increased to 600 kg.
The overhead transportation system is an overpass with rotary carriers used to convey parts to the powder coating booth and from the powder coating booth to the loading carrier.
The bottom transportation system is a construction consisting of two angle sections placed on a facility floor and at the bottom of the cure oven that are used to convey the loading carrier to the cure oven and back.
